"Nights Thoughts'

I was able to relate to a lot of what Dave was going through. But I think he had it harder than I did. The poor guy was losing his dignity as a man by catering to Ella hand and foot while simultaneously trying to juggle working full time, tending to the children, and household duties (which are usually left to women). I don't understand why he wouldn't just leave her. What's preventing him from getting away from her? Also, is she really the mother of the children? I hope that there is more to the story because the ending left me wanting to know more about what happens next.
